Environmental Services
FDA’s environmental scientists have extensive experience with environmental services for roadways, bridges, water resource projects, pipelines, landfills, park and recreational facilities, site development, and coastal projects. These services range from early planning studies, design, and permitting to long-term monitoring of wetland mitigation projects. We regularly assist our clients in the permit compliance of construction projects to facilitate the completion of projects on time.
Notable Projects:
-
Tampa Airport Interchanges Project: A $200 million construction project involving SR 60, Courtney Campbell Causeway, I-275, Spruce Street, and the George Bean Parkway that includes water quality sampling, NPDES inspections, permit compliance, agency coordination, and sea grass mitigation.
-
District Wide Environmental Support for Operations: FDA provides permit compliance inspections and agency coordination for all of the Florida Department of Transportation District Seven’s construction projects. As-built review and processing is provided at the completion of the construction projects. The contract also includes maintenance management of more than 400 acres of wetlands at 45 mitigation sites and long-term monitoring at several of the sites.
-
John’s Pass Bridge (SR 699): FDA’s project efforts included an Endangered Species Assessment for NEPA compliance with the National Marine Fisheries Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service for FDOT’s PD&E process. Additional coordination was required with Federal, State and local regulatory agencies for the approval of the bridge demolition plan. Our Scientists provided marine mammal surveys during demolition of the existing bridge.
