- Utility Inspections
FDA has provided utility services for public and private clients since 1985. These
services include planning, design and coordination efforts both independently and
in support of highway design projects. All design efforts adhere to the current
FDEP and local agency standards.
Notable Projects:
- Utility Coordination - SR 78 (Pine Island Road) (Florida Department
of Transportation District Seven): This two mile reconstruction project involves coordination among six public and private utility owners. The fast paced development in the project area requires frequent updating of current and proposed utility locations.
- Utility Design - SR 70 (Arcadia) (Florida Department of Transportation
District Seven): It was determined that this roadway project could impact the old underground water and wastewater utilities owned by the City. Water and wastewater lines were designed to current standards and permitted on behalf of the local agency in order to expedite construction.
- Hillsborough County Water Department Annual Bond Inspections (Florida
Department of Transportation District Seven): This project is required by the covenants of the County’s Bond Program. Since 1997, FDA has performed the inspections to assess the condition of water and wastewater facilities including lift stations, water meter assemblies and fire hydrants. Reports are generated to develop maintenance and budget requirements for the subsequent fiscal year.
- Utility Coordination - Hartline Streetcar Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Engineering: The mass transit agency is determining the feasibility of extending the existing trolley line to the downtown core. FDA is providing utility coordination services for this effort.
- Utility Design - SR 64 (Florida Department of Transportation District
Seven): FDA is providing design services for the relocation of Manatee County water and wastewater facilities. These services are provided under a Utility Design by FDOT Consultant Agreement.
