Traffic Engineer – Tampa

The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of design plans for the construction of traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, roadway lighting and intelligent transportation systems
  • Preparation of traffic operational and safety studies including traffic signal warrant studies, capacity analysis and signal timing studies
  • Familiarity with traffic engineering design and analysis software such as: GuideSign, Synchro and Highway Capacity Software (HCS)
  • Familiarity with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) standards, specifications and practices

In addition to the items listed above, this position will be responsible for supervising and mentoring junior staff, and for marketing to new and existing clients, including presentations and interviews.

Requirements

  • 5 – 10 years of progressive experience in Traffic Engineering
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Florida P.E. professional registration
  • Recent Florida Department of Transportation experience

Highway Engineer – Tampa Office

The Highway Engineer will be responsible for developing roadway plans and traffic control plans; developing quantities, cost estimates, pavement designs, RRR reports and lane closure calculations; supervision of others’ work products and the budget; and marketing clients, including presentations.

Junior Engineer – Tampa Office

The Junior Engineer will be responsible for highway and drainage design; plans production utilizing CADD Software; and assisting in the preparation of studies and reports.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with zero to four (0-4) years of experience
  • Registered Engineer Intern (E.I.) in the State of Florida
  • Written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Independent decision making with the ability to grow
  • MicroStation and Corridor Modeling experience
  • Experience with MicroStation or AutoCad
  • Previous internship, CADD, or design experience is a plus

Student Intern – Tampa

This is a paid Environmental Scientist Internship Position for Summer and Fall 2017. The position is in the environmental section of a civil engineering firm located in Tampa. This is an opportunity to obtain experience in environmental consulting and to gain field skills under the direction of an Environmental Scientist. This job entails working outdoors in all weather and all terrain, and working indoors in an office environment. Work will be approximately 15-20 hours per week during the weekday business hours of 7 am to 6 pm.

Job Duties

This position will assist with:

  • Wetland delineations
  • Wetland mitigation site reviews and maintenance recommendations
  • Wetland mitigation site monitoring
  • Listed species surveys
  • Submerged aquatic vegetation surveys
  • Permit compliance inspections on active construction projects
  • Preparation of reports for mitigation and construction inspections
  • Data entry and basic data analysis
  • Formatting and organizing information for reports
  • Conducting research for projects
  • Preparation of GIS exhibits
  • Completing forms for permit applications

Good written and verbal communication skills and basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office are required.

Key Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate junior or senior or a graduate student pursuing a degree in one of the natural sciences or a recent college graduate with a degree in one of the natural sciences
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Hold a valid Florida driver’s license with good driving record
  • Have effective time management skills and strong work ethic
  • Ability to perform in both a field setting and a professional environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
  • ArcGIS and/or CADD skills encouraged
  • Wetland plant identification, especially invasive species, encouraged
  • Ability to obtain a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commercial Applicator License from the Pesticide Certification Office and Stormwater Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector license from the Department of Environmental Protection

Billing Specialist – Tampa

The ideal candidate will have experience billing multiple invoices on a monthly basis. They will be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment. The candidate will have strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. They can multi-task while possessing a can-do, positive attitude. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and be able to prioritize tasks and duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generates invoices for Cost-Plus, Lump Sum, and Time & Material projects.
  • Reviews invoices to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with contract requirements. Identifies issues, researches same and remedies as appropriate.
  • Processes and distributes reports to project managers and clients.
  • Performs project maintenance to include setup, updates, closings, un-encumbrance of funds, and time and expense transfers.
  • Processes accounts receivables into system.
  • Manages collection accounts.
  • Processes and routes project contracts.
  • Establishes and maintains internal and external business relationships.

Software Requirements:

Proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience working with an ERP system. BST experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma and AA Degree desired.

Work Experience

Minimum of 2 years billing or accounting experience.
